Quercetin
Introduction
Quercetin is a kind of expectorant drug commonly used in the clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine in China. This product has good expectorant and antitussive effects, and also has a certain anti-asthmatic effect. It also has the pharmacological function of lowering blood pressure, improving capillary resistance, reducing capillary fragility, lowering blood lipids, dilating coronary arteries, and increasing coronary blood flow. Clinical kercetin is mainly used for bronchitis and phlegm inflammation. Chemicalbook also has an auxiliary therapeutic effect on patients with coronary heart disease and hypertension.
Chemical properties
Yellow needle-shaped crystalline powder. It is stable to heat, and the decomposition temperature is 314℃. It can improve the light resistance of pigments in food and prevent the change of food flavour. It will change colour when it encounters metal ions. Slightly soluble in water and easily soluble in alkaline aqueous solution.
USE
As the most common flavonoid compound, kercetin has a variety of biological activities, can resist oxidation, and plays an important role in the clinical treatment of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
